Shatusky and Helen Motion:
Mabarak - application for a conditional use Seconded:
permit to operate a children's preschool Ayes:
center to be located at 287 West Angela Noes:
Street, property described as Parcel 17, Absent:
Block 152, Book 94 of Alameda County Assess- Abstain:
or's Office.
The Public Hearing was opened by Chairman
Garrigan.
The Planning Director told the Commission
that he felt concern regarding this applica-
tion because of lack of information forth-
coming from the applicant and because this
is the first pre-school application the City
has.
The Fire Department and the Building Inspec-
tion Division will have to make inspections,
the State Department of Welfare will have
to advise of the eligibility of the applican s.
In addition, a more detailed plot plan would
be desirable, together with a clearer plan
for the parking.
Mr. John Corley, representing the applicants
was present and spoke in favor of the
applicant, requesting that the Commission
grant this use subject to meeting the
conditions imposed by the other agencies.
He also gave some background information
regarding the type of operation.
Mr. and Mrs. Shatusky were both present, and
expressed willingness to cooperate in every
way possible.
Considerable discussion followed between
the Commissioners, the applicant, and
Mr. Corley.
Since detailed information was not available
to the Commission, it was moved to continue
this application to May 13, 1970.
- 2 -
