4y~~sANToy CITY of PLEASANTON <br />y ~'j ; <br />.~ <br />~~° Planning Commission <br />+w.. so s <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />DCte : July 22, 1970 <br />Time : 7:3o PM <br />FIaCe; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />Mr. Dick Watson, 3533 Olympia Court, stated II <br />he has a child in this type of school and <br />feels the advantages are fine, and that therd <br />would be no traffic problems encountered. <br />Mr. Gerald Robinson, 7783 Capewood Place, <br />who owns property adjacent to the proposed <br />school, stated he is in favor of the school <br />provided all trees and open space are kept <br />intact. <br />A Mr. Browning, Suffolk Way, who has a st <br />in this type of school, spoke in favor of <br />this kind of school. <br />Mr. Don Kush, 4917 Treewood Court, stated <br />that based upon the reputation of this <br />school in other areas and the behavior of <br />the children, he is in favor of permitting <br />this school. <br />Mr. Don Evers, 7761 Capewood Place, an <br />adjacent property owner, spoke in favor of <br />the school provided the trees are left in <br />place. <br />Mr. Lafayette, 5137 Foothill Road, raised <br />the question of whether or not this prop- <br />erty was in Annexation No. 64, presently in <br />the process of being annexed to the City. <br />After some discussion, Mr. Garrigan called <br />attention to the fact that the application <br />before the Planning Commission tonight was <br />for a prezoning and conditional use permit. <br />Those speaking in opposition to the propos <br />private school are as follows: <br />Mr. Patrick Dunn, 7187 Flagstone, said the <br />real estate agent for the school gave <br />neighbors the alternative of the school or <br />apartments. He called it an "implied threa <br />When he bought his home, he understood this <br />was zoned for single family type residences <br />only. Mr. Dunn further stated he felt <br />there would be a traffic problem and ques- <br />tioned the need for such a school in this <br />area, and that it was a commercial venture <br />- 7 - <br />it <br />~~ <br />
