4y~~s"N~°y C TY of PLEASANTON
I
,. .
g
~~~° Plannin Commission
+rr~o s
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
Date July 22, 1970
Time : ~:3o PM
Pla C8; Pleasanton Justice Court
The City Attorney was asked to give his
interpretation of the "numbers game" which
he stated was a question of construction
and what the ordinance actually says.
Density is figured in accordance with the
policy of the City Council.
Mr. Richard Pearson, 1656 Orchard Way, and
Chairman of the General Plan Review Committe
strongly urged approval of the development
plan, stating it gives variety, and provides
housing for a wider margin of income groups.
Mr. Jim Thomas, 3559 Glacier Court South,
also a member of the General Plan Review
Committee, gave his support in favor of this
project, stating it is the type of housing
that Pleasanton needs, and is of the type
described in the General Plan Review report.
He felt the green belt area was adequate
and urged the go-ahead on this development.
Mr. Victor Bailey, 4565 Black Avenue,
approved of the 'salt and pepper' variety
development but felt that the best use of
the land in this general area should be
industrial because of its location along the
railroad tracks, and also would present less
of a traffic problem.
Mr. Keith Wheeler, 4591 Lakewood Street,
supports the Four Villages concept of mixed
'~ housing, since housing is a critical problem
in Pleasanton. This plan does not disrupt
the General Plan even with higher density,an~
efficient land use is the most important.
Mr. Chuck Seymour, 492 San Gabriel Court,
stated there were enough budget problems
already and that no compromise should be mad
in regard to density.
It should be noted that all of the foregoing
named gentlemen are members of the General
Plan Review Committee.
- 2 -
