q~~~s"~~°y CITY of PLEASANTON
~ ~'i .
`~~~~° Planning Commission
.~l~M {D ~
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
Data September 22, 1970
Time : 8:30 PM
Pia ce: Pleasanton Justice Court
MATTERS INITIATED BY Vice Chai rman Pons and Commissioner Wood
COMMISSION MEMBERS attended the study session on interim uses
for industrially zoned properties.
It was the conclusions of both Commissioners
that Council would consider items on an
individual basis. Some discussion was held
on taxation for mobile home parks, and
Council wants to discuss this further.
However, Council only took into considerati
uses that were under consideration but did
not consider any other interim uses, not
shown on the list provided by staff.
It was the feeling of the Planning Director
that a certain amount of industrial acreage,
no matter what, be held specifically for tha
purpose.
The Planning Director suggested that perhaps
one solution would be for Commission to hold
a session and replan the industrial areas,
holding some with no deviation and then
rezoning the balance to more realistic uses.
Mr. Castro advised the Commission of the
upcoming League of California Cities meeting
in San Diego, October 24-28.
The Commissioners advised that they would
let us know if they could attend.
Mr. Castro told the Commissioners that the
Mayor and City Manager were discussing
possible ways of honoring past Commissioners
and Councilmen. That perhaps a dinner
might be held periodically in this regard.
The Commissioners felt it would be a good
way to compensate the individuals for their
time.
They also felt some definite policy should
be set up to take care of this.
- 4 -
