No. 1040 convalescent and long-term care Noes: <br /> facility in a P (Public and Institu- Absent: <br /> tional) District; said facility to be Abstain: <br /> located on property described as <br /> Parcel 38, Block 14, Book 94 of the <br /> Alameda County Assessor's Office, <br /> containing 1.86 acres, more or less, <br /> property generally located on the <br /> north side of Neal Street at the <br /> intersection of Neal and Third Stree <br />These two items were considered sim- <br />ultaneously. <br />Mr. Robert Myers was present to spe <br />for the application. <br />Commissioner Hirst wished to clarify <br />the square footages noted on the <br />revised plan. <br />Dr. Ralph Juhl, 580 E. Angela Street <br />spoke stating that he is a partner <br />in a group of three who had previous <br />received approval to construct a <br />future convalescent medical complex <br />on Black Avenue. The medical office <br />portion is presently under construc- <br />tion. Dr. Juhl indicated he did not <br />feel Pleasanton could bear two <br />convalescent hospitals and urged the <br />Commission to consider this before <br />making a decision. He further in- <br />dicated he felt this zoning would <br />be spot zoning on Neal Street. <br />Chairman Carrigan stated that the <br />Commission's responsibility is to <br />consider proper land use, rather tha <br />the economics of individuals concern <br />- 2 - <br />
