4y$~s"N~°y CITY of PLEASANTON
~~~ nin Commission
.~..o. Plan g
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
~GtB January 12, 1971
Time : s:25 pM
FIQCe; Pleasanton Justice Court
GENERAL PLAN
AMENDMENT
GP-70-5, continued
to Feb. 9, 1971.
Vintage Hills Study - application of the
Planning Commission to review and%or amend
the General Plan for that area generally
encompassing the following two areas:-
1. The Vintage Hills Shopping Center site
fronting Pico Avenue, containing 14.4 acres,
more or less, described as Lot 26, Tr. 2802,
2. The Commercial Freeway District fronting
Vineyard Avenue, containing S.0 acres, more
or less, described as Lots 563 and 564,
Tr. 2980.
Said General Plan review is to reevaluate th
existing zoning that is now applicable to
those properties within the City Limits, as
well as to reevaluate the land use recommen-
dations offered by the General Plan.
A prior presentation had already been made
on this subject, and the Acting Secretary
gave a brief explanation to the Commission
of the background surrounding this study.
ITwo renderings were displayed showing the
zoning as it presently exists and the other
as proposed by the study report.
Considerable discussion followed.
Mr. Mike Cohen, Director of. Development
for H. C. Elliott, Inc., who has an option
to purchase this property, spoke requesting
a continuance of this item so that his
organization could work on a revised plan,
showing an approximate site of 4 acres for
commercial, with the balance devoted to
townhouse units. H. C. Elliott, Inc., does
not agree with the staff proposal of a 10 ac.
commercial site at this time.
Mr. Aiello emphasized to the Commission that
the procedure being considered that evening
is not a rezoning, but merely a general plan
amendment.
- 2 -
