Mr. Aielli <br />stated that the traffic load on Black Ave. <br />is below maximum. Alan Campbell reported <br />that the street has a 60-foot right-of-way <br />and 40-foot curb-to-curb with two lane. <br />parking. The traffic caused by the increases <br />use of the Recreational Center was discussed. <br />Mr. Campbell stated that this street will <br />eventually be a major arterial and that a <br />traffic signal at this corner will be neces- <br />sary anyway with normal growth, and for the <br />time being sees no problem with traffic. <br />Mr. Aiello stated that there will be <br />additional parking to be developed when the <br />facility expands. <br />Bob McSwiggin, representing the applicant, <br />stated that his report included with the <br />staff report, was based on figures in other <br />centers, and he used the closest estimate. <br />Discussion arose regarding the approved <br />convalescent hospital adjacent to the pro- <br />posed facility, and in regard to the <br />additional traffic. <br />Commissioner Hirst stated that he would <br />.prefer to see the same use on the corner <br />of Santa Rita Road and it would improve <br />said street and he opposed the traffic on <br />Black Avenue. <br />The Commission emphasized although this is <br />in a P District, this is not a business <br />office and there will be no truck traffic. <br />-2- <br />
