4~~~3A~~°~ CITY of PLEASANTON
~ '~~ •
.~
`~~~° Planning Commission
~IIM •0
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
Date : July 13, 1971
Time : s:oo PM
Place: Pleasanton Justice Court
The Commission expressed the feeling that
some of the problems the Commission has
faced have dealt with tradeoffs in the
field and the handling of maps, and in one
instance the Commissioners were sure that
a certain commitment was made to shake roof
and wood siding, but had no proof. The
Commission expressed the opinion that these
matters can be handled more efficiently so
the City will not be caught off-guard.
The Commission brought out the fact that
following the joint meeting with the Parks
and Recreation, where there was discussion
about some mutual concerns, the City Attorn
was to draft a City Park Dedication Ordin-
ance to cover certain areas that do not
fall under that act. Parks have never been
related,to square footage, but to people.
Both the multiple and single family unit
dwellers support park development.
Chairman Garrigan commented that in August
the Planning Commission sets one night
dinner meeting with the City Staff and they
again would like to set one night aside
for a barbeque. Commissioner Hirst offered
his home for the meeting.
Bill Edgar was congratulated for his
appointment to the post of City Manager.
He expressed his thanks and said it was an
honor to be the City Manager of Pleasanton
and will work with the City Staff to do the
best possible job for the City.
There being no further business, the meeti
was adjourned a~.~PM~~
ro, Secretary
-12-
