CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-198 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE <br />REFUSE COrreCtION AGREEMENT TO ESTABLISH <br />GUIDELINES FOR A CITY-WIDE RECYCLING PROGRAM, <br />RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 90-149, AND <br />ESTABLISHING REVISED FIXED AND UNIFORM REFUSE <br />COLLECTION RATES FOR THE CITY OF PT~ASANTON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton (City) and Pleasanton Garbage <br />Service, Inc. (Contractor) have entered into an <br />Agreement for the exclusive collection, transportation <br />and disposal of dry garbage and refuse from the City of <br />Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />in accordance with Section 9.20.090 of the City of <br />Pleasanton Municipal Code, rates for refuse services <br />shall be set by a resolution approved by the City <br />Council of the City of Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Contractor shall conduct all billing related to the <br />collection, transportation, recycling, and disposal of <br />said garbage and refuse in strict accordance with the <br />rates listed in such Resolution; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />on August 7, 1990, the city Council adopted Resolution <br />No. 90-149 revising the collection rates; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />City staff and the Contractor have negotiated a proposed <br />recycling program, the terms of which are set forth in <br />the attached First Amendment to the Refuse Collection <br />Agreement; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Contractor currently operates a transfer station <br />located at Busch Road in the City of Pleasanton which is <br />available to the general public; and <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE THAT: <br /> <br />Section 1: The Mayor is authorized to sign an amendment to the <br /> Refuse Collection Agreement in a form substantially as <br /> shown on the attached First Amendment to the Refuse <br /> Collection Agreement. <br /> <br /> <br />
