With regard to the staff report from the Fire Department, Mr. Castro emphasized that the street configuration on Lethbridge, ', Ferndale .and Whitehall are nub-standard and ' are not acceptable as the turning radius does not allow use of the Court end, there- fore for safety reasons and for ease in street maintenance it is recommended that the median strip be eliminated and Whitehall be redesigned from a cul-de-park to a cul- de-sac. There was brief discussion followed by a suggestion from Commissioner Hirst that the house numbers in this tract be illuminated. Chairman Carrigan entered a resolution to approve said tentative map with the above mentioned conditions. This was seconded and approved unanimously. Mr. Castro outlined the meeting dates scheduled for the Commission: January 18th, special meeting at Amador High regarding Kaiser's reclamation project. January 25th will be devoted to review of the Study District beginning at 7:00 with the regular Planning Commission meeting following at 8:00 PM. January 31st is a joint meeting wit the City Council to interview Planning Con- sultants. Mr. Castro asked the Commission tc reserve each Tuesday evening in February, beginning February 8th, for reviewing pre- sentations regarding the regional shopping center applications.
