4y$~s"~~°y CITY of PLEASANTON
•~/ . ~
~~,:ot Planning Commission
~..o
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
DG18 February 8, 1972
Time ; 8:0o PM
PIaCe: Pleasanton Justice Court
Mr. Arnold Abrott, representing the
owner, was present. He indicated
that this property was a residence
upstairs and there were problems in
keeping desirable tenants. He furth
stated that the letter dated May 11,
1970, denying a permit to allow
remodeling of this structure due to
failure to meet the building code, w
received by them the day before
Mrs. Georgis passed away. The prop-
erty has now come out of probate and
now has five owners. He stated that
the existing zoning for this area is
C-C (Community Commercial) and the
applicant wishes to use it for that
purpose.
The Commission indicated to Mr. Abro
that the building does not meet the ~
building code and it ~s the City's
policy to make sure that downtown
structures are either brought up to
the Code or demolished. He then
asked Mr. Abrott if the applicant
is willing to bring the building up
to Code. Mr. Abrott indicated that
they would be willing to meet the
electrical requirements but would no
be able to make it fire proof.
The Commission then suggested that
an analysis of what is necessary to
bring this structure up to Code be
prepared and the staff and applicant
review the matter together.
r
~s
t
-5-
