Chairman Carrigan informed <br />him that he should bring the matter before <br />the City Council. <br />A resolution was entered by Chairman Garriga <br />reaffirming the Commissions original rec- <br />ommendation. This was seconded and carried <br />unanimously. <br />MATTERS FOR INFORMA- Mr. Castro reported that outdoor merchandis- <br />TION OF COMMISSION ing, such as that being conducted at the <br />Alpha Beta Shopping Center should be reviewe <br />by the Commission. Also, he indicated that <br />a report concerning sign violations would <br />be presented at the March 28 meeting. There <br />are many instances of shopping centers using <br />their windows for advertising. <br />The Commission felt that the outdoor storage <br />of shopping carts and sidewalk sale of <br />plants and fertilizer area safety hazard <br />and that the managers of both Safeway and <br />Alpha Beta should be notified and solutions <br />sought for this problem. Mr. Castro indi- <br />cated that he would be in touch with the <br />manager of each store in this regard. <br />Res. 1167, Approved. Chairman Carrigan entered a resolution to esolution: <br />the effect that as a general policy for the econded: <br />Planning Commission and in the interest of yes: <br />a good liaison between the Department of <br />Community Development and the Planning <br />Commission, that the Chairman and the Direct r <br />or his designated representative meet within <br />three working days prior to any Planning <br />Commission meeting.
