No. 1171 <br />PR-7]-4, Recreational Activities for <br />the Youth Sports and Recreation Park. <br />Gary Patton displayed a proposed <br />development plan for the Youth Sport <br />Park. He indicated that the best ki <br />of 1 andscaping could be accomplished <br />and maintained by using turf grass <br />for the entire area. He reviewed <br />the proposed development of the park <br />which includes 8 Little League Base- <br />ball Diamonds, 2 Babe Ruth Baseball <br />Diamonds, 2 night lighted softball <br />diamonds, 1 regulation Junior Foot- <br />ball Field and 1 regulation Soccer <br />Field. <br />Commissioner Pereira suggested that <br />some thought should be given to <br />creating a very active park and <br />passive parks for those who seek <br />solitude. <br />There was further discussion regard- <br />ing the types of activities designat <br />for this park. Chairman Carrigan <br />entered a resolution that the Planni <br />Commission support this proposal wit <br />the provision that with regard to th <br />land uses of the park the Parks and <br />Recreation Commission shall submit <br />future development plans for review <br />by the Planning Commission. <br />This resolution was further amended <br />by Commissioner Pons that in additio <br />to supporting the proposal, the Plan <br />Consultant review it with respect to <br />traffic circulation, especially alon <br />Hopyard Road.
