Willow <br />West feels that Livingston & Blayney <br />will have to give consideration to <br />the effect BART will have on this <br />site, and to the Amador-Livermore <br />Valley. Mr. Mariani also told the <br />Commission that Willow West will be <br />prepared to dedicate parking area for <br />the BART station. He then referred <br />to the text on the back of the <br />General Plan and indicated that their <br />300-odd acres will provide the maxi- <br />mum benefit for a shopping center in <br />cooperation with BART, and the con- <br />venient transportation thus being <br />provided could also aid considerably <br />in easing the smog problem. <br />Mr. Mariani further pointed out that <br />the area south of #580 and bounded by <br />Hopyard, the Mocho, and Santa Rita <br />has grown about the fastest in the <br />City. <br />Mr. Mariani concluded his presentatio <br />by referring to the closing remarks <br />made by Livingston & Blayney in their <br />General Plan review... "Where develop <br />ment pressures are great and the <br />stakes are high, special interest <br />views are forcefully presented. The <br />often silent majority must maintain <br />constant vigilance if Pleasanton is <br />to achieve its goals." <br />The Public Hearing was then closed. <br />-3- <br />
