4y$~SAlyTo~ <br />CITY ~~ PLS~~` <br />~. <br />t. g <br />`~-~-~~° f~lannin ~Car~r~nissi®r~ <br />....a <br />MI~JUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />Date : May 23, 1972 <br />Time : 8:55 P.M. <br />PIaCe; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />A letter had been received from the <br />League of Women Voters regarding the <br />question of solid waste management. <br />Copies had also been sent to Council. <br />MATTERS INITIATED <br />BY COMMISSION <br />MEMBERS <br />Mr. Castro told the Commissioners that <br />a letter had been received from Dick <br />Braden of MacKay & Somps requesting <br />a reapproval of Tentative Tract Map <br />#3102 (Oakhill) . ' This item will be <br />scheduled for June 13. <br />The Chairman had a few comments for <br />Councilman Herlihy. This concerned <br />the area of the budget. The Commis- <br />sion felt that adoption of the bud- <br />get should not rest solely on the <br />shoulders of the Council. The <br />Commission would like to have a <br />voice in certain areas and receive <br />more input from the Council. <br />Commissioner Pereira then commented <br />that in matters of five-year capital <br />improvement plans, it would aid <br />the Commission in their decisions <br />to know the timing of capital improv <br />ments. <br />Discussion also followed on seminars <br />and the advantages that can and have <br />been derived from these sessions. <br />Commissioner Hirst also spoke about <br />the question of manpower for the staff <br />and possibility of holding off on <br />some of their study request to the <br />staff if additional manpower will <br />not be budgeted by the City Council. <br />Councilman Herlihy interpreted this <br />all to mean that the Commission. <br />-10- <br />
