4~~,~-saNTOti <br />CITY of PLEASANTON <br />~~o <br />MMiO S-~ Planning Commission <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />Date : July 25, 1972 <br />Time : 8:45 P.M. <br />PIGCe; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />he applicant was not present to spec <br />owards this application, however, in <br />eviewing the staff report, the Com- <br />ission did not foresee any problems. <br />A resolution was then offered to ap- <br />prove this request with all previous <br />conditions plus some additional ones, <br />and with the stipulation that this <br />permit will need to be reviewed again <br />in five years instead of the 10 years <br />requested by applicant. <br />Review of request of Citizens Savings <br />and Loan to locate an office in a C-N <br />(Commercial Neighborhood) District - <br />review of policy as set forth in the <br />General Plan to restrict savings and <br />loan institutions to the Central <br />Business District. <br />Phis request from the City Council <br />was predicated on a request by the <br />legal counsel for Citizens Savings <br />& Loan Association that the City <br />reconsider their policy regarding the <br />locating of savings & loan institutio s <br />within neighborhood shopping centers. <br />Secretary Castro explained that in- <br />formation had been submitted to Counc 1 <br />from the State Savings & Loan author- <br />ities that they will not endorse a <br />savings andloan institution in the <br />downtown area since since an institut'o <br />already exists there. Letters were <br />noted in the file indicating conflict'n <br />positions taken by the various princi <br />pals involved. Consequently, the <br />Commission has been asked to review <br />their policy on this matter. <br />Vice Chairman Pons felt that clarifi- <br />cation needed to be made regarding <br />n <br />g <br />-10- <br />
