Plac@; Pleasanton Justice Court Mr. Dado of Southern Pacific Land Company, with interests in the Will West site, spoke in favor of their proposal and shared Mr. Mariani's feeling that this matter should be reviewed by the experts and their opinions taken into consideration. Mr. Ted Fairfield then spoke. He referred to remarks regarding experts submitting their views. He clarified that Stoneson has consulted the experts and their remarks have been submitted to the City for their re- view. Regarding the issue of the Division of Highways, MacKay & Somps, City staff, etc., has been in very close touch and the City has retained the firm of MacKay & Somps as their consulting engineers to lay out the property for the interchange. Mr. Fairfield then talked about the multiples, that they are very com- plementary to a regional shopping center. In terms of the school, the population that will be generated will be considerably less than would be present in a single-family develo ment. All of the studies suggested b Mr. Mariani have been done. The iss of the General Plan amendment was discussed with the Director of Community Development and all elements of the General Plan have been met in this instance. Regardin the Calaveras Fault, the most reputable firm in this field, Crosby & Associates, has given the Stoneson site a "clean bill of health." Mr. Mariani suggested to the Com- mission that on the basis of the testimony and information presented that evening, in order to afford Willow West Properties the same opportunity to present their positi -11-
