gy~~sANTOy CITY of PLEASANTON <br />.~; . <br />~~~° Planning Commission <br />~rrsv t <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />Dote ; September 26, 1972 <br />Time : 8:00 P.M. <br />PIGCe; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />Mr. Helgeson came in to talk to him <br />about the property located between <br />Scholastic Magazines and Harper and <br />Row, and what would be his hopes of <br />obtaining the use of the property <br />temporarily for his business head- <br />quarters. <br />Ultimately, Mr. Helgeson would want <br />to locate on Stanley Boulevard, but <br />until his business increased to the <br />point where this is economically <br />possible, he would like to keep his <br />business at the Sunol Boulevard ad- <br />dress. He stressed that he wished <br />to remain in Pleasanton, if at all <br />possible. <br />Specifically, his business involves <br />the measuring of radioactivity in <br />person's bodies who have been ex- <br />posed to that element; also, the <br />radioactivity contained in mud in <br />lakes, rivers, etc. They work in <br />the United States and Canada, and <br />have been in business for about six <br />years. <br />Their sales generally parallel the <br />growth of the nuclear power industry. <br />Graphs prepared by a USAEC publicatio <br />indicating their growth pattern from <br />1972-1985, were also included in the <br />information booklet on Helgeson Nucle <br />Services. <br />Mr. Helgeson indicated he would be <br />willing to bring the building up to <br />Code. He further told the Commission <br />that he maintains two mobile vans whi h <br />are used as scientific labs, and are <br />usually on the road. A third unit is <br />maintained in underwater conditions, <br />and is also moving constantly. Perio - <br />ically, these vans are brought into <br />e home office for servicing. <br />-4- <br />
