~pe""'y CITY of PLEASANTON <br />~~ Planning Commission <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />Date : October 24 , 1972 <br />Time ; 3: oo P.M. <br />Place; Conference Room - City Hall <br />RILL <br />ZONING PERMIT <br />Continued item <br />Z-71-91 <br />Commissioners present: McLain, <br />Pereira, Wood and Chairman Pons. <br />Commissioners Absent: Carrigan. <br />United Presbyterian Church -site <br />plan, landscaping and architectural <br />approval to permit the construction <br />of 131-apartment units on that <br />property generally located on the <br />north side of Vineyard Avenue, <br />Pleasanton, known as Pleasanton <br />Greens, 3837 Vineyard Avenue. <br />Secretary Castro explained that sub- <br />sequent to the October 17 meeting, <br />which was not attended by the City <br />Attorney who was out of town, he had <br />a meeting with Mr. Hirst to discuss <br />requirements on the environmental <br />impact statement which would possi- <br />bly need to be filed on this project <br />Mr. Hirst then explained to the <br />people present that there is a pro- <br />blem regarding this matter. <br />Because of the Supreme Court ruling <br />on the Environmental Quality Act <br />which was recently adopted, there <br />are certain instances in which the <br />City either has to make a finding <br />that a particular project is not <br />going to have a significant effect <br />on the environment, or in lieu of <br />that, go ahead and file and prepare <br />an environmental impact review. <br />The Pleasanton Greens project is the <br />sort of situation in which this pro- <br />cedure is going to have to be <br />followed.
