4y$~3AJVToy CITY of PLEASANTON <br />~ ~ '~~ • <br />`~~*~° Planning Commission <br />...o. <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />Date : November 14, 1972 <br />Time : 8 ~ 05 P .M. <br />PIOCe: Pleasanton Justice Court <br />assess the impact of the Livermore <br />Airport expansion on this Valley. <br />The Commissioners reiterated to Mr. <br />Lee that this body is concerned with <br />and opposed to increase in air traffic <br />and all ramifications that are part <br />of these factors. <br />Commissioner McLain wished to know wh< <br />guarantee Pleasanton has if after the <br />study has been completed Livermore <br />decides to go ahead with any expansion <br />deemed necessary, even if this would <br />be of detriment to Pleasanton? Mr. <br />Lee answered that the planning area <br />has been established by the Airport <br />Land Use Commission. It was further <br />pointed out that the Valley's repre- <br />sentative on this commission is a <br />Dr. Shirley of Livermore. <br />'ISecretary Castro described for the <br />Commission the procedures the staffs <br />iof the agencies involved plan to <br />!adhere to in the completion of this <br />,study . <br />Some discussion ensued regarding the <br />apparent lack of participation on <br />Pleasanton's part at this time. Sec- <br />retary Castro stated that both Pleas- <br />anton and Livermore are very much away <br />of the study that is currently being <br />undertaken. The Valley Planning <br />Committee has discussed this matter <br />at some length and these are the kind <br />of studies that that body will be <br />addressing itself to in the future. <br />The suggestion was then made that <br />perhaps Mr. Lee could report back to <br />the Livermore Council what Pleasanton <br />feelings are and that participation <br />be afforded Pleasanton in the formu- <br />t <br />Gs <br />-e <br />s <br />-3- <br />
