The next two phases <br />will follow fairly shortly thereafter <br />and it is projected that the study <br />will be completed before the end of <br />1973. <br />Mr. 'Lee clarified that the Master Pla <br />indicates an addition of 500 ft. to <br />the existing runway, said addition to <br />go to the east. There is also a <br />parallel 300 ft. runway planned to <br />locate to the south of the existing <br />one to service some of the slower air <br />traffic. <br />Mr. Lee did point out that the new two <br />engine Cessna jets are extremely quiet <br />and that this is the aircraft of the <br />future. Consequently, the concern ex- <br />pressed by the Planning Commission <br />regarding the possibility of increasec <br />noise should be eliminated. <br />The Commissioners questioned Mr. Lee <br />about the anticipation of larger-type <br />aircraft. The answer was that no <br />aircraft larger than the F-27's is <br />anticipated. <br />The Commissioners then wished to know <br />how much the additional 300 ft. run- <br />way would increase air traffic. The <br />reply was not appreciably more . <br />Mr. Lee concluded his remarks by <br />stating that he hoped the Planning <br />Commission would reserve judgment <br />on this matter until Livermore can <br />-2- <br />
