4y~~8A"~ CIT`Y of PLEASANTCJN
~~ Plannin Commission
9
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
Dats 2 March 13, 1973
Tima ; 9:0o P. M.
PiACIf+ Pleasanton Justice Court
recommendation that those lands be retained
in the I-P District.
Mr. Castro expressed the concerns the City
staff has regarding this petition. There is
considerable Office zoning within the Centra
Business District at the present time.
Mr. Castro also told the Commission that the
staff had done a brief review of the existin
Office zoning outside of the C.B.D. area, as
well as the amount of Industrial zoning avai
able for development. Of the 2,000-odd acre
of industrial lands, only 26 acres could be
developed at the present time. A study was
done of the I-P zoning in the Mission Park
area several years ago, at which time the
staff had recommended that the zoning be
changed to C-S, but that recommendation had ~
been rejected.
Secretary Castro termed the present request
"spot" zoning. He recommended to the
Commission that the staff be allowed to make
a study of the Office zoning available withi
the City. Also, the staff could perhaps
define the types of office uses which should
be allowed in the Office District.
Mr. Bras, representing this application,
spoke and noted that this is the third hear-
ing on this case.
Mr. Joe Chickerella spoke to this applica-
tion. While he could see Mr. Castro's view-
point, he felt that the Office zoning could
be compatible with the adjoining neighbor-
hood area. He did not feel the I-P zoning
would blend as well with the neighborhood.
Mr. F. Raymond Young was present to speak fox
this matter, but told the Commission that he
would wait until the next hearing to make
his comments.
G
w '
ij
I
-4-
