PIO C@; Pleasanton Justice Court MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS Review of possible amendment to Sec. 2-5.41 Projections into Yards. Various types of patio covers and structures projecting into rear and side yards were discussed. It was agreed that these should be Looked at separately. The City Attorney was asked to explore the subject and propose an ordinance or policy regulating these stru tures so that such matters can be handled at staff level without having to be brought before the Commission. Mr. Scheidig was directed to limit this recommendation to patio covers, patio covers being described as not enclosed on three sides and attached to the rest of the house. Review of draft ordinance pertaining to ,prohibiting use of barbed wire. 'Discussion of the draft ordinance took place with suggestions made by Mr. Campbell and Mr. Scheidig. The Commissioners concurred that something needed to be done regarding this matter and directed the City Attorney to make the necessary revisions and then set the matter for public hearing. The matter of Mrs. Stella Beratlis' applica- tion before the County was raised. The Commissioners felt that City policy should bE reexamined and clarified in regard to alter- na to plans for sewage treatment and annexa- tion proceedings. Commissioner Wood next made reference to the Livermore Airport expansion. He indicated that the Commission had gone on record and adopted a resolution that the City Council be notified that the Commission was against expansion of the airport; and, he wondered if Council had received a copy of a letter from Commissioner McLain regarding this subject. -8-
