CITY of pLEASANTON
Planning Commission
MINUj~$ ~~pF REGU _AR MEETING,
DGte ~ November 21, 1973
Time; 7:3o P.M.
Piccej Pleasanton Justice Court
Mr. Chuck Seymour, member of the CAC
spoke. He concurred with Mr. Andrew
remarks, and directed his remarks to
the discrepancies outlined by both
Mr. Harris and Mr. Andrews. He felt
that there is the basic fact of
philosophy to be considered as well.
At this point, the Chairman inter-
rupted Mr. Seymour to advise him
that he would like him to confine
his comments to matters of major
importance, since the Commission was
in the position of having to formu-
late their position to pass on to
City Council. The Chairman felt tha
all minority comments should be made
to that body, rather than to the
Commission. Mr. Seymour attempted
to present some background surround-
ing these problems, but in light
of Chairman Pereira's remarks, he
opted to make his comments to
City Council instead.
Some discussion ensued regarding the
advisability of. going into the back-
ground of these matters, and a lady
in the audience spoke in favor of
it. However, the Chairman explained
to all present that there would be
ample opportunity offered to all to
discuss background of some of the
positions arrived at by members of
the CAC at Council level.
'Commissioner Pons then spoke indica-
ting confusion as to what authority
'the staff has to modify recommenda-
tions made by the CAC .J Chairman
Pereira attempted to make that
'.,position clear for Commissioner Pons'
benefit. The Chairman stated that
all three groups (staff, Commission
.and CAC) has an obligation to Council
and while there will be differences,!
-9-
~~~~»~
