One method <br />they use is to penalize the contrac- <br />tor if he exceeds established noise <br />levels by cutting down the number <br />of his work hours. <br />Another method is to ensure that <br />all City equipment meet the noise <br />standards. <br />The Chairman then stated for the <br />records that a copy of Commissioner <br />McLain's memo dated October 26, <br />1973, has been submitted to Senior <br />Planner Harris for filing. <br />A resolution was then entered and <br />adopted, approving the Noise Ele- <br />ment of the City of Pleasanton, with <br />the following modifications: <br />Mention within the report something <br />on City/County cooperation and <br />coordination of activities at the <br />Fairgrounds ; plus , take under <br />advisement for possible implementa- <br />tion those points made known in <br />Commissioner McLain's memorandum <br />dated October 26, 1973. <br />SEISMIC SAFETY ELEMENT <br />Senior Planner Harris explained the <br />background and introduction to this <br />~, element. The Pleasanton area is <br />within one of the most active <br />seismic belts on earth.
