CITY of PLEASANTON <br />- Planning Commission <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />DQtA ; January 9 , 1974 <br />Time; s:o4 P.M. <br />P~GCB~ Pleasanton Justice Court <br />The Airport Committee on January 2, <br />1974, took an opposing position <br />against this proposed bill and <br />Commissioner McLain felt the Plan- <br />ning Commission should do likewise, <br />and make their feelings known to the <br />City Council, with the intent that <br />Council do the same. <br />They further proposed that their pos <br />tion be made known to Assemblyman <br />Carlos Bee, City of Livermore and <br />the League of California Cities. <br />The Commissioners made it clear that <br />they are not opposed to safety <br />measures at the airports, but are <br />opposed to all governmental furs- <br />dictions in the State being equally <br />responsible for the funding. <br />They passed a motion opposing the <br />bill "as written" because of the <br />many "unknowns" in it, but would be <br />amenable to endorsing such a bill if <br />amendments are made to the present <br />one, as it pertains to funding of <br />safety operations. <br />Commissioner McLain indicated that <br />he had read an article that Congress <br />is on the verge of a land use law. <br />Copies of this information will be <br />run for the other Commissioners for <br />their information. <br />On the whole, the Commissioners were <br />not familiar with what is being pro- <br />posed by the Federal Government. <br />Commissioner McLain brought up the <br />question of the new financial dis- <br />closure act for public officials. <br />Commissioner McLain wished to know <br />-6- <br />
