CITY of PLEASANTON
Planning Commission
SPECIAL
MIN~T~~ 0~ ~X ME~TIN(i',
QOt@ ; February 20, 1974
Tiff~@ Z 8:05 P.M.
PIOC@t Veterans Memorial Building
the proposed regional center) with a
parking area of about 20 acres -
either the northern route going
easterly along Stoneridge Drive run-
ning north of the Val Vista develop-
ment, crossing Hopyard Road then over
to Station F on West Las Positas Blvd
west of Santa Rita Road, thence on to
Livermore, with undetermined stations
within the northerly section of that
city.
The southern route would run down
I-680, on the east side between the
freeway and the Alamo Canal to Bernal
Avenue, with Station J occurring near
the core area and then following the
SPRR tracks, continuing along Stanley
Boulevard into Livermore .
Mr. Blayney stated that in all pre-
vious meetings, no one spoke in favor
of the San Ramon corridor route, the
preference being for the Dublin Canyo
route. In Livermore, the dominant
opinion appears to be for the downtow
route. While he does not believe
Livermore's comments would affect
Pleasanton's choice of a route, there
are cost differentials, resulting
jfrom such a choice, which could
~~affect construction of the entire
,line.
'~, Some noise base maps were also pre-
sented .
!The alternatives offered for the
downtown would be either an aerial
structure, or a cut-and-cover subway
.entering west of WPRR, emerging at
Ray Street. SPRR would have to be
relocated to the WP rail road lines.
'The two projects would be simultane-
-2-

~\
~~ ~~~
