4y$~SA"~°y CITY of PLEASANTON <br />~~ .~,. <br />.~ <br />`~ ~~° Planning Commission <br />~w so <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />DGt@ : August 19, 1974 <br />Time : 4 :40 P.M. <br />PIOC@: Civic Center Conference Room <br />latitude and generalities so that <br />changes may be made, if needed. <br />An EIR is also required and must be <br />available by October 14, when the <br />final plan is adopted by the City <br />Council. <br />Regarding the population in the pro- <br />ject area, Commissioner Pons had no <br />problem with it. <br />Planning Intern Ellen Holden indica- <br />ted that a check was made of the <br />area and there is no low density <br />residential in the area. <br />Commissioner Wood clarified a <br />density change across from the sew- <br />age treatment plant, and Mr. Harris <br />stated that the density is medium <br />as shown on the General Plan. <br />Discussion ensued. <br />Commissioner Pons made reference to <br />Page 7-B, referring to development o1 <br />well-designed planned unit, multiple <br />residential. Staff concurred that ii <br />is their hope that it would develop <br />in that manner to complement a revi- <br />talized downtown. The Chairman con- <br />curred that this thinking is in keep- <br />ing with the current and revised <br />General Plan an+d in keeping with the <br />CBD revitalization plan. <br />Mr. Bow ling emphasized that the plan <br />is spelled out in such a way as to <br />allow sufficient latitude to take <br />care of whatever improvements or <br />acquisitions, etc., the City may neec <br />to make, as noted on Page 5, Section <br />III, No. 1. <br />The Chairman asked Mr. Bowling what <br />-3- <br />
