Rose Roach - appeal to an Resolution <br />adverse decision of the Zoning Seconded• <br />• <br />Administrator to allow a home occu- Ayes• <br />pation permit to conduct a pottery Noes• <br />and hobby crafts business in the Absent• <br />garage of her residence at 1114 <br />Abstain: <br />Santa Rita Road, Pleasanton; zoning <br />for the property being R-1-6500. <br />Present at the meeting was Mr. George <br />Roach, representing his wife. He <br />told the Commission that they are <br />looking for a suitable location at <br />this time. Commissioner Garrigan <br />asked Mr. Roach how much time he <br />would need to relocate the business, <br />however, he could not determine ex- <br />actly when he would be able to move. <br />He requested permission to continue <br />with his business from his home until! <br />he finds another location. <br />Secretary Harris advised the Com- <br />mission that the staff had received <br />three calls from neighbors opposing <br />the business. <br />City Attorney Ken Scheidig asked for <br />point of clarification, whether the <br />objects manufactured on the premises <br />were also sold there. The reply <br />was that the articles were sold in <br />hobby shops. <br />A resolution was then offered by <br />Commissioner Garrigan denying this <br />application, as per Commission's <br />policy, the effective date of <br />denial being March 12, 1975. <br />The City Attorney indicated a pre- <br />ference for continuance to March <br />rather than denying the applicant <br />but extending the permit for 60 <br />days. <br />-9- <br />
