""°'°• CITY of PLEASANTON
Planning Commission
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
DGtB ; January 8, 1975
Time : 8:20 P.M.
PIGCe: Pleasanton Justice Court
property owners could be affected
tax-wise?
Mr. Ron Wirth, 444 Vineyard. He
manages the Almaden Vineyard a littl:
better than a mile east of the site.
He employs as many as 80-100 people,
sometimes on split shifts. He
stated there are four very bad turns
on Vineyard going east. He has met
those trucks traveling to the dump
site on Vineyard, especially in the
area around the Vineyard Mobile
Villa and these trucks are always on '
the wrong side of the road. He
also indicated he had heard a rumor
of price discrepancy among those
users of the dump site. He is ;
against the extra traffic that this
business will generate.
Chairman Wood asked Mr. Wirth about
his trucking schedule and route
utilized during the grape crushing
season. Mr. Wirth replied that
their trucks go out Isabel to
Stanley towards Pleasanton, then on
to #680.
Next, Mr. Ralph L. Martin, owner of
some 40 acres adjacent to the pro-
posed refuse transfer station. He
objected strenuously to this appli-
cation. After the surge in growth
which Pleasanton experienced in the
past few years, the dump site became
inadequate for the increased popu-
lation and the traffic situation
deteriorated. He felt that such a
longterm facility should be located
in a more central spot. He also
asked how the proponents intend to
dispose of the water used to hose
down the facility. Will the City
be providing sewer capacity for the
-4-
