CITY of PLEASANTON <br />Planning Commission <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />DCte ; February 13, 1975 <br />Time ; 8: oo P.M. <br />PIaCe; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />Mirador Drive, north of Pico Avenue <br />and immediately east of the former <br />eastern City Limit line. <br />Secretary Harris explained that <br />several telephone calls had been <br />received requesting that the rezon- <br />ing be made to a lower density than <br />R-1-6500 District. <br />However, Secretary Harris indicated <br />that the entire area is zoned in the <br />R-1-6500 density and is shown on <br />the master plan as medium density <br />residential. He further stipulated <br />that there is a provision in the <br />ordinance whereby increased lot size <br />are required on sloping land. <br />Staff did consider recommending the <br />density to a lower one, but con- <br />cluded by recommending the higher <br />density designation because of <br />today's high cost of housing which, <br />should the lots be larger in the <br />area, these homes, when sewer per- <br />mists become availab le, will be out <br />of reach of almost everyone. <br />The Public Hearing was opened. <br />Several people spoke requesting that <br />the lots be zoned to the lower den- <br />sity. They were: <br />James Fischer, Angela Street. He <br />presented a sheet denoting seven <br />reasons why the land should be zoned <br />a lower density. <br />Trent Pridemore, Mirador Drive. He <br />stated most of the lots are about <br />8,000-10,000 in that area. Also, <br />with the smaller lots, the traffic <br />situation would be increased, <br />aggravating an already critical <br />-5- <br />
