gV$~BAN~~y CITY of PLEASANTON
,~ .~,.
`~'~~~° Planning Commission
.o
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
D018 ; May 14, 1975
Time : 8 :15 P .M.
PIOCe; Pleasanton Justice Court
MATTERS FOR
INFORMATION OF
COMMISSION
MATTERS INITIATED
BY COMMISSION
MEMBERS
Review of model home complex loca-
tions for Tracts 3062 and 3184 -
Morrison Homes.
Secretary Harris advised the Com-
mission that the purpose of this
matter before them is because Mor-
rison Homes wanted an indication
that the two locations noted would
be acceptable to the City. They
have received 103 sewer permits.
Commissioner Butler attended the
Attorney General's Conference~on
Land Use, and the most important
indication he received from that
conference was that the day of the
Cities' determining their own
destinies is coming to an end .
Commissioner Carrigan confirmed
this, citing Fred Cooper's resigna-
tion from ABAG, due to lack of
local control on land use matters.
Commissioner Doherty confirmed simi-
lar concerns. He questioned how
someone sitting in a County seat
could react to the needs of a small
community. He did take substantial
notes and intended to prepare a
one-page report for the other Com-
missioners, and the liaison repre-
sentative from the City Council.
Chairman Wood took the opportunity
to thank members of the press for
their articles in local papers
pointing out some of the dangers
that are involved with running a
home occupation. He felt that
this is a worthy service which the
news media can provide.
-11-
