gy`~BAN~°~ CITY of PLEASANTON
.~,
`~'~*~° P!alnning Commission
r so
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
DG18 ; July 9, 1975
Time : 8 ~ oo P.M.
Pi0C8: Pleasanton Justice Court
MATTERS FOR INFOR-
MATION OF THE COM-
MISSION
vide staff with all the requirements
needed for completion of the final
report. Therefore, review of this
,map will need to be continued un-
!,til this has been completed.
Secretary Harris indicated that it
is now required under State law that
a General Plan be adopted by Septem-
ber 1, 1975, and said plan must con-
tain all of the mandated elements.
A tentative one was adopted in 1974,
with the one currently being used
adopted in 1968. However, due to
the fact that the economic element
has not been finalized, staff will
probably be going to Commission with
a request to adopt the General Plan,
which would be the same map pre-
viously adopted on a tentative basis.
Discussion centered on the method in
which the General Plan would be
documented and presented to the pub-
lic. It is intended to print it in
the local newspaper as it was dis-
covered to be the most economical
method of reaching the widest range
of citizens . This should average
approximately 10 double newspaper
sheets. It was suggested that this
document be set in legib le type.
Secretary Harris stated that the
Commission should, at the end of
proceedings, adjourn this meeting
to July 30, 8:00 P.M., at the
Justice Court because, the redevelop
ment plan has not been examined by
the City's Bond Counsel yet. Counse
may recommend that a portion of the
area be amended or deleted, and if
this is so, it will be necessary
-9-
