41$ y
~SA~T° CITY of PLEASANTON
~ '/.
.~
~~° Planning Commission
.~ .o
MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING.
DGfB ; August 13, 1975
Time : 8:00 P.M.
PIOCe; Pleasanton Justice Court
locating a fire hydrant adjacent to
the driveway on Sycamore Road, and
extending the water main, either from
Sunol Boulevard or the Rosepointe
3evelopment. Initially, the cost of
accomplishing this would have to be
borne by the applicants.
ecause of the hazardous traffic situ
.tion at the Sunol/Sycamore intersec-
ion it was Traffic Engineering's
eeling that. no use be allowed which
buld increase left-turn traffic into
ycamore.
reover, several residents in the
ea were concerned that this propos
y alter the rural atmosphere of
eir street.
t was staff' s recommendation that thq:
equest be denied at this time, but Ii
hat the Marshalls be encouraged to i
eapply for the use once the Sunol
oulevard/Sycamore Road situation is
orrected .
e Public Hearing was opened.
[r. Paul Marshall was present to spea
or this application. He requested
.pproval of his request subject to th
onditions in the staff report. He
elt it was regrettable that he and
he other residents on Sycamore Road
hould be subjected to the hazardous
raffic situation currently existing.
e suggested that traffic be routed
pother way so as to avoid making the
eft-turn. Regarding the fire hydran
equirement, Mr. Marshall felt that
his would be necessary for student
afety. He felt it was regrettable
hat Sycamore Road residents are not
iven the same benefits other resi-
nts in the City enjoy.
-3-
