PIGCe; Civic Center ROLL CALL APPROVAL OF MINUTES CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT UP-75-24, Denied, Resolution No . 1366 Commissioners Present: Butler, Doherty, Shepherd and Chairman Wood. Commissioners Absent: Carrigan. The minutes of the adjourned meeting of the Planning Commission on August 4, -1975, were deferred. Grafco Petroleum - application for a conditional use permit to allow the expansion of an existing service station located at 707 Main Street; zoning for the property is C-C (Cen- tral Commercial) District. Secretary Harris summarized the staff report for those present, who did not have a copy of that report. The staff felt that there are two major problems with the site, both associated with the traffic circu- lation: 1) the eastern-most pump island is so close to the eastern property line of the site that traffic would encroach into the sidewalk and spills out onto Main Street, while waiting to buy gas. The previous station pumped about 90,000 gallons per month with only three pumps; 2) the cars exiting the site, who want to make left- hand turns on to St. Mary Street, have to wedge their way into the line of traffic thereby causing traffic congestion. This has been a long-standing problem with the Police Department. Staff recommended revision to the plot plan submitted by Mr. Graffen- statte, which they felt would better resolve the traffic problems which this use has caused in the past, and which, because of the Resolution Seconded: Ayes: Noes: Absent Abstain: XI '~X
