ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Lindsey, Wilson and
Chairperson Getty
Noes: Commissioner Jamieson
Chairperson Getty then asked if perhaps a condition shouldn't
be imposed with regard to the Barton-Aschman Traffic Study.
Commissioner Wilson then made a motion to add condition No. 35
"That all recommendations of the Supplemental Traffic
Analysis prepared by Barton-Aschman Associates shall
be complied with."
This motion was seconded by Commissioner Lindsey.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson, Lindsey, Wilson
and Chairperson Getty
Noes: None
Resolution No. 2117 was then entered and adopted recommending approval
of PUD-81-23 subject to the conditions shown in the staff report to
the Commission adopting the changes as made in the previous two
motions.
The Safeway representative, Mr. Don Kallenberg asked if the worm
diverter was now a condition of project approval. Chairperson
Getty explained that this is one of the conditions of the Barton-
Aschman study which was adopted in the above motion.
Commissioner Lindsey stated that Safeway will have an opportunity
to address this matter at City Council level.
Commissioner Jamieson said he didn't think the land should be set
aside as public parks because there are a number of parks set aside
for lack of money which haven't been developed and that the developers
have some rights with regard to their property. He said he doesn't
believe, however, that high density zoning is correct.
Commissioner Lindsey indicated he does not agree with the comments
of Mr. Jamieson and would be very happy to have a similar project
back up to his home. He stated he lives behind the empty property
across the street from the proposed Orloff development. He said he
would rather have the Orloff-type development than a two story house
backing to his property which would deprive him of the privacy he
has been accustomed to. He said condominiums would still enable
him to have his privacy while providing a buffer against vandals.
He said he has had two occasions where person(s) have entered
his yard from the vacant lot.
-7-
. _, ..._..T__.... _.... ..... _.. .. ........ ......_._._. _............
