Commissioner Lindsey said he has no problem with five-story buildings.
Commissioner Jamieson then asked if anyone has summarized the five-
story buildings in town. He stated Prudential will propose from
three to six, Meyer will have at least one and there are others
approved for the periphery of the Stoneridge Shopping Center.
Commissioner Lindsey stated he recalls that Fromm has a height limit
on it.
Commissioner Doherty stated he would like to see a 65 ft. height
limitation imposed on the Reynolds and Brown proposal.
Commissioner Wilson indicated that citizens never come to the meetings
and address this issue. Commissioner Jamieson responded that at
the recent election it was obvious people are concerned about five-
story buildings.
Commissioner Lindsey made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Wilson,
that the negative declaration prepared for case PUD-82-1 be adopted
and recommended for approval to City Council inasmuch as approval of
this development would have no significant effect on the environment
because conditions imposed on the project would reduce any effects
to insignificant.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson, Lindsey, Wilson and
Chairperson Getty
Noes: None
Absent: None
Abstain: None
Resolution No. 2155 was then entered and adopted recommending approval
of the mitigated negative declaration prepared for case PUD-82-1.
A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Commissioner
Lindsey, that case PUD-82-1 be recommended for approval as per the
staff report, adding condition number 9 as recommended by staff
and adding condition number 10 to read as follows:
No building on the site shall be greater than 65 ft. in
height from the ground level with the exception of an
elevator room, if applicable.
Commissioner Wilson then stated that when Reynolds and Brown first
came in there was a 14-story building proposed and Reynolds and
Brown said at that time they didn't plan to go over three stories
and now - here they are. He suggested that perhaps some of the
Commissioners would like to discuss this issue.
-3-
,.
