MINUTES PLANNING COMMISSION 4/28/82 Page 11 Commissioner Doherty indicated there is a joint Planning Commission/City Council meeting on 5/3/82 and on 5/19/82 there is a Planning Commission meeting at which time the only items on the agenda will be matters relating to Hacienda. He indicated it is apparent that general plan changes are necessary to accommodate this project and perhaps it was an oversight that they had not suggested the initiation of general plan amendments previously. Mr. Harris stated that this was not an oversight but rather an effort to encompass as many changes as would be necessary at one time as opposed to suggesting piecemeal changes. Commissioner Wilson indicated disappointment at the lack of public attendance at the previous Planning Commission meeting. He said that as a Planning Commission member it i.s their responsibility to see that development in the City is the best for the City. He said he would like to be very cautious with the North Pleasanton area to make sure no mistakes are made. Commissioner Doherty said he agrees with this and would favor initiating general plan amendments to get all of the issues up on the table for consideration. Commissioner Lindsey concurred with these statements also. A motion was made by Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner Jamieson that the necessary general plan amendment applications be initiated as recommended in the staff report to the Planning Commission shown as Item 7a and dated April 28, 1982. ROLL CALL VOTE Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson, Lindsey, Wilson and Chairperson Getty Noes: None Absent: None Abstain: None Initiate an Ordinance Code Chance to Allow for Periodic Outdoor Sales Mr. Harris presented his oral report in that at the last Planning Commission meeting the staff would probably be requesting the initiation of a zoning amendment so that the ordinance could be reviewed concerning outdoor sales of merchandise. Commissioner Doherty asked if this would cover such things as the outdoor sales at Amador Plaza shopping center. Mr. Harris said it would, but that the upcoming outdoor sales is legal. A motion was then made by Commissioner Lindsey, seconded by Commissioner Doherty initiating a zoning code change as requested by staff .
