(2) six (6) through twelve (12) years of continuous service <br /> 8 shifts. <br /> <br />(3) Thirteen (13) through fifteen (15) years of con- <br /> tinuous service - 10 shifts. <br /> <br />(4) Sixteen (16) through seventeen (17) years of continuous <br /> service - 11 shifts. <br /> <br />(5) Eighteen (18) years and over - 12 shifts. <br /> <br />6.4(2) <br /> <br />6.4(3) <br /> <br />6.4(4) <br /> <br />Vacation Accumulation <br /> <br />Management and confidential employees, except a <br />probationary employee, may be allowed to incur a <br />forty (40)-hour deficit beyond the vacation leave credited <br />to his/her account on his/her anniversary date. A <br />probationary employee may incur a forty(40)-hour deficit <br />in vacation after six (6) months of full-time, <br />satisfactory service. Fire battalion chiefs may <br />incur a fifty-six (56)-hour deficit. <br /> <br />The maximum vacation hours management or confidential <br />employees may accumulate by their anniversary date shall <br />not exceed twice their annual vacation entitlement. If <br />employment circumstances are such that an employee is not <br />permitted to take all or a portion of his/her vacation, <br />the employee may request permission to carry over said <br />unused vacation to the next year. <br /> <br />Ail hours in escess of the maximum accrual will be paid to <br />the employee at the end of the calendar year. <br /> <br />Vacation Schedule <br /> <br />The times during a calendar year at which an employee may <br />take his/her vacation shall be determined by the <br />department director with due regard for the wishes of the <br />employee and particular regard for the needs of the <br />service. <br /> <br />Vacation PaT <br /> <br />Management and confidential employees may be paid for up <br />to ten (10) days of accrued vacation providing however, <br />they have taken a minimum of ten (10) vacation days during <br />the prior fiscal year and will have a remaining vacation <br />balance of at least five (5) days following said payment. <br />Fire battalion chiefs are subject to the same provision as <br />converted into shift hours. Payout may be requested on <br />June 30th or December 31st, but the maximum pay-out shall <br />not exceed ten days. <br /> <br />- 9 - <br /> <br /> <br />
