MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
Pleasanton, California
City Council Chambers
200 Bernal Avenue
Wednesday, August 11, 1982
8:00 P.M.
CALL TO ORDER
The Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton was called to order at
8:00 p.m. by Chairperson Larry Lindsey.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited.
ROLL CALL
Commissioners Present: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Jamieson, Wilson
and Chairperson Lindsey
Commissioners Absent: None
Staff Members Present: Robert J. Harris, Director of Planning and
Community Development; Robert L. Warnick,
Director of Public Works and Utilities;
Brian W. Swift, Assistant City Attorney and
Shirley McDougall, Recording Secretary
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
No Minutes were submitted for approval.
MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE PLANNING
COMMISSION
No one addressed the Commission.
MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS
Commissioner Getty asked about her previous request for a crosswalk on
Main Street near the Downtown Centre. Mr. Warnick stated it was presented
to the traffic committee who recommended denial because it is not a good
safe policy to have crosswalks in places other than at intersections
unless there is a definite need.
Commissioner Jamieson asked about the aerial photograph to be displayed
in the Council Chambers. Mr. Harris indicated this would be done shortly.
Larry Lindsey asked about the sidewalks on the north side of Valley
Avenue between Santa Rita Road and Hopyard Road and whether or not
the staff has looked into this matter. Mr. Harris responded that he
did not know why there is no sidewalk at this location but that it
probably relates to the original development plan approval of Morrison.
Commissioner Lindsey suggested that perhaps he could personally meet
with staff on this matter at a later time.
OLD BUSINESS - Public Hearings
Chairperson Lindsey recommended that case PUD-82-13, Castlewood
Properties be heard after case RZ-82-5 and therefore be continued
to later in the evening.
All of the Commissioners concurred with this suggestion.
