4y~~-SA1VTO~ CITY of PLEA~ANTaN <br />~': <br />~.o Planning Commission <br />MINUTES ~OF REGULAR MEETING. <br />DGte : January 14 , 1976 <br />TIIY~i@ ; 8:22 P.M. <br />PIGC@; Pleasanton Justice Court <br />Staff's position is that pedestrian <br />access should not be prohibited. <br />Property owners at the end of Ver- <br />vais Avenue are concerned that <br />employees of the facility would park <br />their vehicles on Vervais Avenue, <br />thereby intensifying an already <br />serious parking situation on that <br />street. They cited further problems <br />of BART bus commuters parking on <br />that street, at times making it <br />impossible for them to back out of <br />their driveways without having to <br />employ particularly tight maneuver- <br />ing. <br />Don Sooby, Director of Engineering <br />Services gave background of this <br />situation which arose at the time <br />that Arrow Rentals attempted to <br />locate in this building. It is the <br />City's intention to install "No <br />Parking" signs in conjunction with <br />the completion of the body shop. <br />Apparently, there was some discre- <br />pancy regarding .the type of fencing <br />to be installed - Resolution No. <br />1351 calling for a solid wooden <br />fence and Resolution No. 1350 pro- <br />viding the proponent with the option <br />of either a solid wood fence or a <br />chain link fence covered with red- <br />wood slats. <br />Discussion then centered again on <br />the parking situation. Mr. Sooby <br />read an excerpt from Council minutes <br />of January 13, 1975, which prohibiter <br />parking on the north side of Ver- <br />vais Avenue to the eastern border of <br />the property in question and along <br />the south side along the Corporation <br />Yard.
