Commissioner Jamieson asked if the City would prepare some information
regarding how many industrial tax dollars it would take to reduce home-
owners tax by one cent. It was explained to Commissioner Jamieson that
if an industry brought in $12,000, theoretically, the City tax rate
can be reduced by one penny. School taxes would drop even more.
Commissioner Shepherd indicated that once again, he came away from the
Pleasanton Body Shop case feeling very bad. He felt that the uncer-
tainty of the alignment of the Del Valle Parkway has made it impossible
for the residents on Vervais Avenut to sell their properties. Perhaps
this problem needs to be faced up to and the General Plan changed, .if
necessary.
Chairman Butler indicated that he would prefer to go to two meetings
a month instead of one long one like this evening. Some discussion
pro and con ensued. Commissioner Doherty indicated that since he
travels quite a bit, it might be difficult for him to make two meetings
each month.
Chairman Butler indicated that with the formation of the Human Services
Commission, a member from the Planning Commission would need to be
appointed to that board. He appointed Commissioner Shepherd, adding
that this job would be a rotating assignment.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, the regular meeting of the Planning
Commission was adjourned at 1:05 A.M.
Robert .
