The hearing on Mrs. Calupig's use permit then continued.
Resolution No. 1463 was entered and adopted approving this application
subject to the findings and conditions noted in the staff report.
Roll Call Vote
Resolution: Wood
Seconded: Shepherd
Ayes: Doherty, Shepherd,
Noes: None
Absent: Jamieson
Abstain: None
Wood and Chairman Butler
Rz-76-21, Planning Commission - application to place into the HPD
Hillside Planned Development) approximately 120 acres located west
of Foothill Road near its intersection with Bernal Avenue.
Secretary Harris described the location of the property. He indicated
that the proposal is to exclude the developed portions of Longview.
Because of the steepness of much of the land, staff felt the Hillside
Planned Development would be most appropriate. He emphasized that
this type of development is in effect a planned unit development in
hilly lands with very tight design controls.
The Public Hearing was opened.
Mr. Ralph Romero, 3580 Touriga stated that the lower section of Long-
view does not have a 20~ grade, and probably should not be included
HPD District. He stated that he is interested in property off
Foothill Road, and is applying for a septic tank in order to build
a house. He wondered if the zoning change might affect his plans.
Commissioner Jamieson arrived at 8:35 P.M.
Chairman Butler advised Mr. Romero that as the situation is now, his
property is included in the area, and it would probably take special
action to remove his property.
Secretary Harris stated that since Mr. Romero's property is a part of
a larger parcel and if it continues as such, it should probably be left
in the HPD District at this time, and if it is approved as a separate
parcel, then rezoning can be considered and it might be appropriate
for the City to stand the charge for the procedure.
The Public Hearing was closed.
Resolution 1464 was then entered and adopted recommending to the
City Council that the property under discussion be rezoned to the
Hillside Planned Development, but excluding the approximately 16 acres
of already developed portions of Longview.
Ro11 Call Vote
Resolution: Shepherd
Seconded: Doherty
Ayes: Doherty, Shepherd,
Noes:Jamieson
Absent:None
Abstain: ;<Tone
Wood and Chairman Butler
-2-
