Commissioner Shepherd shared Commissioner Doherty's fears and asked about
the time schedule for widening of Hopyard Road. Mr. Sooby indicated there
was none, that it would be a long time in the future. Commissioner Shepherd
then asked how truck access could be restricted from the Valley Avenue access.
Chairman Butler also felt that reflector buttons would not be adequate, that
raised concrete dividers would probably be necessary.
Commissioner Wood felt that the City needs an increase in commerce and in-
dustry. He would like to add a condition that all truck deliveries be made
to the rear and truck access be relegated to Hopyard Road entrances only.
Chairman Butler agreed with this recommendation.
Commissioner Jamieson indicated concern that no trucks be allowed to stack
up near the Valley Avenue entrance of the site. He felt some regulation
in that regard would be necessary. Chairman Butler asked Mr. Beratlis if
he would be amenable to restriction of truck access from Valley Avenue and
Mr. Beratlis answered yes.
The Commissioners recommended adding three conditions; that all truck traffic
use the Hopyard Road driveways and that a sign be placed at the Valley Avenue
driveway stating that no truck traffic may enter or exit the site from that
driveway; that there be no parking or storage of delivery or service trucks
or trailers on the P-zoned portion of the site at any time; and that a
raised median be provided on Hopyard Road beginning at the northernmost
driveway and running to the southwesternmost corner of the property.
Resolution No. 1474 was then entered and adopted approving this application
with the required findings and conditions, adding the three conditions noted
in the foregoing, plus an additional four conditions listed in Director of
Engineering Services' memorandum of December 2, 1976.
Roll Call Vote
Resolution: Wood
Seconded: Shepherd
Ayes: Doherty, Jamieson,
Noes: None
Absent: None
Abstain: None
Shepherd, Wood, Chairman Butler
Chairman Butler notified the people in the audience that they had 15 days
from the date of action taken to appeal this decision to the City Council
if they wished.
RZ-76-24, Planning Commission - application to rezone an approxiamtely 33-
acre parcel of land located on the south side of Stanley Boulevard and east of
the A & R Service Center from the S (Study) District to the C-S (Commercial
Service) District and to rezone the approximately 37-acre parcel of land
immediately east of the above parcel from the A (Agricultural) District to
the C-S (Commercial Service) District.
Secretary Harris told the Commissioners that the annexation of this property
has been accepted by the City Council and the matter is about to be pro-
cessed through the Local Agency Formation Commission. The property bound-
aries were described by Secretary Harris. Mr. Harris indicated that if the
-4-
,..T.... .... .~ .
