MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />A. Deputy City Attorney Levine stated that the 1976 P.G.&E. Energy Conser- <br />vation standards could be applied where environmental assessments are to <br />be made on a project and the standards could become part of the mitigating <br />measures. <br />Commissioner Jamieson asked if these standards could be applied to commercial <br />industrial buildings. Mr. Woody Pereira pointed out that in ssx months that <br />these standards have been in effect, they have been revised three times, and <br />is in a evolutionary state. <br />B. Staff was asked to investigate portions of the Arroyo on the east <br />side of Santa Rita Road, along the Del Valle to watch for possible dumping. <br />C. Commissioner Wood then discussed the proposed new security ordinance <br />Council is working on. He stated that he would like to see the City owned <br />property abide by those requirements. <br />Resolution No. 1496 was entered and adopted recommending to the Park and <br />Recreation Commission that they enforce the security ordinance on all of <br />the City-owned park facilities. <br />Roll Call Vote <br />Resolution: Wood <br />Seconded: Shepherd <br />Ayes: Jamieson, Shepherd, <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: Doherty <br />Abstain: None <br />Wood, Chairman Butler <br />D. Commissioner Jamieson stated that the lighting outside the Council <br />Chambers is extremely poor and asked that the City possibly correct this <br />situation. <br />E. Commissioner Wood indicated that at the last growth management meeting, <br />the City Attorney made a very good presentation which was of considerable <br />benefit to the members of that committee. <br />F. Commissioner Shepherd inquired as to which portions of the barbed wire <br />were to be removed at the post office. It was explained that that portion <br />separating the high school property from the post office was to remain. <br />G. Mr. Levine stated that in connection with his efforts to have Mr. <br />Eschelbach, owner of the Berry Farm on Stanley Boulevard, abate the semi- <br />litter problems on his property, he has met with no response, and was in- <br />tending to take further legal steps against the property owner. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />The regular eeting of the Planning Commission was adjourned at midnight. <br />~~~~ <br />Robert rris, Secretary <br />-8- <br />
