No one spoke to the application, and the Public Hearing was closed.
Resolution 1514 was entered and adopted making the finding that the
proposed project would not have a significant adverse effect on the environ-
ment and that a negative declaration would be filed on this application.
Roll Call Vote
Resolution: Shepherd
Seconded: Doherty
Ayes: Doherty, Jamieson,
Noes: Wood
Absent: None
Abstain: None
Shepherd, Chairman Butler
The Public Hearing on the tentative map portion was opened. Mr. Datwyler
told the Commissioners that he is in the midst of expediting which would be
the most feasible way to develop the property. As soon as that decision is
made, if he goes single family, he would return to the City the extra sewer
hookups he holds for the apartment development for which he also holds
design approval on. Should the property develop as an apartment complex,
he still felt the units would be compatible with Morrison's development.
The units would be two-story townhouse apartments. The two bedroom units
would range around $290 a month rent, the three-bedroom with fireplace
would range around $335 a month. He had no projections price-wise on
duplexes at this time.
Both Commissioners Wood and Shepherd expressed encouragement to Mr. Datwyler
if he could provide housing for the middle and lower income groups.
The Public Hearing on the map portion of the review was closed.
Resolution 1515 was entered and adopted approving Tentative Tract Map #3824,
subject to the conditions in the staff report, which included conditions
in Mr. Sooby's memorandum dated April 6, 1977.
Roll Call Vote
Resolution: Doherty
Seconded: Shepherd
Ayes: Doherty, Jamieson,
Noes: Wood
Absent: None
Abstain: None
Shepherd, Chairman Butler
MATTERS FOR INFORMATION OF COMMISSION
A. Secretary Harris requested that for the month of May, because of other
commitments, that the regular meeting of the Planning Commission be moved
back one week to May 18.
B. Secretary Harris advised the Commissioners of the preliminary budget
hearing on April 19, 1977, at 8:00 P.M., at the Council Chambers. Councilman
Brandes requested any input or suggestions from the Commissioners prior to
that time.
C. Secretary Harris told the Commissioners that two copies of the second
draft on the Airport Land Use policy were available for their review. Staff
did not feel that the City would be affected. A public hearing on this
matter is scheduled for April 20, 1977. Former Commissioner/Councilman
Roger McLain is an alternate member of this committee.
-7-
