The Public Hearing was opened on the P.U.D. portion.
There was considerable discussion regarding configuration of the homes on
the lots, especially those along the trail.
Commissioner Jamieson asked about the previously approved modified Del
Valle Parkway design, and Secretary Harris stated that it was the majority
opinion of Council that the residents would have to pay for it, before
they would look at it again. Councilman Brandes confirmed this position,
indicating that a special district might be formed. It was his under-
standing that this new design would leave room for a modified version of
the Parkway, if the residents decided to form such an assessment district.
Mr. Sooby stated that this would not be the case, if the anticipated im-
provements were built. Mr. Pereira stated that in his discussions with
Mr. Campbell, it was his feeling at the time that with 120 ft. and de-
veloped on each side, that if the existing planter was relocated and some
of the pavement taken, it could be done. Mr. Pereira described the design
as Morrison proposes to construct them. He also described the precautions
they propose to take to assure privacy to the homeowners from the trail
system.
Mr. Pereira spoke about conditions in the staff report - Planning Department
Condition #8 - he asked that he be allowed to go 2" A.C. over 4" A.B.,
where the trail is adjacent to the roadway. Regarding Engineering condi-
tions, he wished to delete Condition No. 23 of Mr. Sooby's April 4, 1977
report. Also, he wished to modify Condition #27, to delete "barricades"
and substitute "safety rail fence." He also requested a modification to
the attached cross section for Harvest Circle,. Mr. Sooby expressed no
concern with these requests.
Next, Mr. Dick Braden, engineer, spoke, describing other engineering aspects
of the plan.
Next, Mr. Bill Arack, representing
Committee for Development of the e
their thanks to Morrison Homes for
section of the Parkway.
