MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton Council Chambers <br />30 West Angela Street <br />August 10, 1977 <br />7:45 P.M. <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The regular meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at 8:15 P.M. <br />by Chairman Butler. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Commissioners Present: Doherty, Jamieson, Shepherd, Wood and Chairman Butler <br />Commissioners Absent: None <br />Staff Members Present: Robert J. Harris, Director of Planning; Harvey Levine, <br />Deputy City Attorney; Don Sooby, Director of <br />Engineering Services; Yvonne McFadden, Recording <br />Secretary <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Two corrections were noted - Councilmember Brandes should not be shown as <br />Council liaison member to the Planning Commission - and Commissioner Doherty <br />noted on Page 8 under review of property acquisition of 7769 Desertwood Lane, <br />it should read, "If so, is it the City's intent to put something more per- <br />manent on the site than is there now, specifically, the single family resi- <br />dence?" <br />These changes noted, the minutes of the July 13, 1977, meeting were accepted. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />GP-76-6, Thomas K. McManus - application for a general plan amendment to <br />change the land use designation of an approximately 66-acre parcel of land <br />located between the Recreation and Sports Park and the Arroyo Mocho imme- <br />diately east of Hopyard Road from "Parks and Recreation" to "Medium Density <br />Residential." <br />Per the staff report, Secretary Harris requested that the Planning Commission <br />continue the application to the November meeting, pending completion of <br />the environmental impact report. The Commissioners concurred and GP-76-6 <br />was continued to the November meeting. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - NEW BUSINESS <br />RZ-77-6, John Edgren, Manuel Delis and Valley Bank <br />Review of negative declaration for a project to rezone land located at the <br />southwest corner of Main Street and Bernal Avenue from the O (Office) District <br />and P (Public and Institutional) District to the C-C (Central Commercial) <br />District. <br />The Public Hearing was opened on the negative declaration review. <br />Commissioner Jamieson referred to the list of uses shown for the C-C and <br />P Districts, presuming that these uses are the kinds of uses that could locate <br />there without opposition.
