MINUTES PLANNING COMMISSION Pleasanton Council Chambers 30 West Angela Street August 10, 1977 7:45 P.M. CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at 8:15 P.M. by Chairman Butler. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited. ROLL CALL Commissioners Present: Doherty, Jamieson, Shepherd, Wood and Chairman Butler Commissioners Absent: None Staff Members Present: Robert J. Harris, Director of Planning; Harvey Levine, Deputy City Attorney; Don Sooby, Director of Engineering Services; Yvonne McFadden, Recording Secretary APPROVAL OF MINUTES Two corrections were noted - Councilmember Brandes should not be shown as Council liaison member to the Planning Commission - and Commissioner Doherty noted on Page 8 under review of property acquisition of 7769 Desertwood Lane, it should read, "If so, is it the City's intent to put something more per- manent on the site than is there now, specifically, the single family resi- dence?" These changes noted, the minutes of the July 13, 1977, meeting were accepted. OLD BUSINESS GP-76-6, Thomas K. McManus - application for a general plan amendment to change the land use designation of an approximately 66-acre parcel of land located between the Recreation and Sports Park and the Arroyo Mocho imme- diately east of Hopyard Road from "Parks and Recreation" to "Medium Density Residential." Per the staff report, Secretary Harris requested that the Planning Commission continue the application to the November meeting, pending completion of the environmental impact report. The Commissioners concurred and GP-76-6 was continued to the November meeting. PUBLIC HEARING - NEW BUSINESS RZ-77-6, John Edgren, Manuel Delis and Valley Bank Review of negative declaration for a project to rezone land located at the southwest corner of Main Street and Bernal Avenue from the O (Office) District and P (Public and Institutional) District to the C-C (Central Commercial) District. The Public Hearing was opened on the negative declaration review. Commissioner Jamieson referred to the list of uses shown for the C-C and P Districts, presuming that these uses are the kinds of uses that could locate there without opposition.
