PUBLIC HEARINGS - NEW BUSINESS Z-78-22, Tri-Ci'ti'es Ambulance, Inc. - application for a home occupation permit to operate an ambulance service out of a residence located at 4107 Nevis Street, Pleasanton; zoning. for the property is R-1-6500 (Single Family) District. Z-78-29, Tri-Cities Ambulance, Inc. - application for a home occupation permit to operate an ambulance service out of a residence located at 4195 Francisco Street, Pleasanton; zoning for the property is R-1-6500 ( Single Family) District. This application came about as a result of concerns expressed to the ambulance service by both the City Manager and the County regarding the ambulance company barely meeting the contract response times. Previous attempts to locate a station in a residential area all failed because of neighborhood opposition and Planning Commission conviction that certain residential locations would not be advantageous for such a service. Secretary Harris stated that he had learned indirectly that the proponents intended to withdraw consideration of the Nevis Street location and only con- sider the Francisco Street location. At this point, the proponents confirmed that they wished to withdraw consideration of the Nevis Street application. Staff is recommending approval of the Francisco Street site because it possesses immediate access to a major street. One other asset is that there is a median break in Santa Rita Road at Francisco Street, which would allow both left and right turns. Opposition to the service in this area has been received via two letters and five phone calls.
