Secretary Harris described the staff report, recommending approval with
four conditions and findings.
The Public Hearing was opened.
Norman Zimmerman, the applicant, was present and expressed no objection to
the staff report.
Bob Hudson, a resident around the corner, expressed concern that first a
church, then a kindergarten, and now an elementary school is proposed to
be operated on this property, and also it has been extended from Valley
Trails to National Park. Chairman Doherty noted that a public hearing had
previously been held on the site change. Secretary Harris explained that
a conditional use permit was issued, and one year later the applicant
obtained a renewal and changed the site at that time. Secretary Harris
mentioned that the school would serve K-8 with a maximum of 75 students on
the site from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., as indicated in the staff report.
Connie Muellerleile, 5903 Bryce Canyon Court, spoke protesting the estab-
lishment of an elementary school at this location since her board fence is
adjacent to the school yard, and requests a barricade consisting of at
least a cyclone fence be constructed behind her back board fence as she
has a pool and animals.
The Public Hearing was closed.
Commissioner Wilson inquired of Secretary Harris whether further expansion
may be requested in the future. Secretary Harris explained the application
is for just three classrooms limiting the number of students to 75.
Resolution No. 1660 was entered and adopted approving application UP-78-15
for a conditional use permit, subject to all conditions and pursuant to
Items A, B and C listed in the August 9, 1978 staff report.
Roll Call Vote
Resolution: Wilson
Seconded: Geppert
Ayes: Geppert, Wilson, Doherty
Noes: None
Absent: Getty, Jamieson
Abstain: None
UP-78-16, Loy Selvey - application for a conditional use permit to allow
the establishment and operation of an automobile air conditioning and
radiator service in the building located at 3657 Old Santa Rita Road.
